George Eliot Hospital

We supported George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust to recruit seven new nurses

Leading to reduced spend on expensive agency staff

Need: To recruit more permanent nursing staff at George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust and increase engagement with their Twitter account

Solution:

Researched demographics and social media use to find the most effective digital channels to reach our target audience

Launched #jointeameliot campaign on Twitter, which took a personal approach and focused on the experiences of frontline staff

Delivered video and social media training to staff, encouraging others to get involved

Created videos including interviews with nurses, midwives and the Chief Executive to promote the Trust and the advantages of working there

Result:

Recruited seven theatre nurses, improving consistency and continuity of care

Substantially reduced the amount of money spent on agency staff

Won best Healthcare Campaign at the 2016 Chartered Institute of Public Relations Pride Awards

Increased the following of the @GEHNHSnews Twitter account to 1,400 by June 2016 and received 10 times more engagement activity on the International Day of the Midwife compared to normal

All targets delivered within budget
