These pages aim to help care home providers learn about and use the West Midlands Bed Capacity module in EMS+. Established for over ten years in the West Midlands the module supports patient flow across health and social care sectors, helping to deliver timely and improved patient care.
EMS+ is used by a large number of providers across the region and is free to use by all health and social care system partners as it is commissioned by local NHS CCGs. Current partners using the system include NHS England, Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust; acute, community and mental health trusts, and local authorities.
There is a national ambition to centralise the recording and reporting of community bed availability and capacity. We encourage all care home providers in the commissioned areas to register for a free EMS+ account and update their capacity to improve patient placements for the benefit of their care and experience.
These pages are designed to help care homes use the free EMS+ features available to them. For more help and information, 7 days a week, email mlcsu.emsplus@nhs.net.
